About the Arun Neighbourhood Network

www.arunnetwork.org.uk

The Arun Neighbourhood Network is part of the West Sussex Partnerships for Older People Project (POPP), and is delivered in partnership by CVS-Arunwide, Age Concern, 4SIGHT and the Alzheimer’s Society. It aims to promote health, well-being and independence, and to address gaps in service provision for older people.

ANN is working throughout Arun; supporting and developing groups and organisations that provide activities and services for older people.

It is linking them together through the network, enabling them tohare resources and information and work together to create neighbourly communities.

Some of the ways in which ANN can support groups and individuals:

Community Engagement Workers – We have 5 CEWs who each work in different areas across Arun. They are there to support groups, signpost individuals to local services, and help to set up new groups.

Fundraising support – We have a Community Fundraising team to help groups with their funding needs. Our consultant (Andrew Devon of Salvia Fundraising - www.salviafundraising.co.uk) will be holding a number of training days and will be on hand to offer one-to-one advice in person, over the phone or via email.

Business Advice – Paul Foreman (Business Development Officer) is available to offer advice to all members of the network. He can help with many aspects of running a group/organisation, such as business plans and sustainability.

Consultation Forum – Our consultation forums allow the voices of older people to be heard on a number of topics relevant to their lives. They will be used to ensure that the work of the network addresses what people actually want, and will also be used to make recommendations to other groups, including statutory bodies, about decisions that affect the lives of older people.

Volunteering – Working closely with the Arun Volunteer Centre, the Arun Neighbourhood Network will be recruiting volunteers to support both their work and groups/organisations that need assistance.
