ACCORD - A Cross Cultural Organisation Recognising Diversity in the Bognor Regis, Chichester and Littlehampton areas -
Terms of Reference
Vision Statement
ACCORD exists to:
- promote effective and harmonious communication, understanding and acceptance between different cultural groups in the Bognor, Chichester and Littlehampton areas
- promote the integration (not assimilation) of different cultural groups into British society
In order to do this ACCORD will: - act as a channel of advice to the statutory and voluntary agencies in the Bognor Regis, Chichester and Littlehampton areas
- initiate and support activities and events that ACCORD agrees fulfils its aims as set out in the Vision Statement
Membership
Any individual or agency who agrees with the above Vision Statement can belong to ACCORD. However, a balance will be sought whereby the members with roots outside the UK always exceed the others by at least 1 person. While it is recognised that committed people often have many other calls upon their time, membership implies regular attendance and may have to be given up if more than two meetings are missed.
Meetings
ACCORD will meet at least once in every 2 months. Sub-groups may be formed which meet more frequently to plan a particular event.
Chair
The Chair and Vice Chair will be agreed by a meeting of the whole group and will hold the post for 1 year, renewable up to 3 years.
